Chairs' Welcome Message

July 23, 2014

Dear friends and colleagues,

The waiting time is over! We are excited to see you all in Montreal. In a few days you will be on your way to our city, with great expectations to hear great science, meet old friends and make new ones, sightsee Montreal and enjoy the hospitality of this city. The Program Committee has put together a fantastic scientific program that will appeal to researchers practising every area of crystallography. The program is loaded with great presentations. The pre-Congress workshops have been very well received and are fully subscribed.

We have made great efforts to put together events in order to celebrate the International Year of Crystallography. In addition to special sessions as part of the Congress we have also organized a series of public lectures at McGill University that will be given by prominent crystallographers on the subject of beauty of crystallography and its impact on everyday life.

The summer in Montreal is in full swing with the city buzzing with activities. We hope that despite a very rich program you will find some time to sightsee Montreal by day and explore its culinary diversity by night. Your hotels are in the downtown core, where life never stops. Do not forget the many Social Activities that are available before, during and after the Congress.

We would like to thank our sponsors for their generosity and assure them that their contributions are immensely important for the success of the Congress.

On behalf of the entire Local Organizing Committee, we truly look forward to welcoming you to Montréal.
